Vent: Utah Air Quality
It’s the cold season again and that means coats, beanies, gloves and spandex. It almost means hot chocolate, tea, and pumpkin spice everything. In Utah it’s inversion season, the most miserable time of the year for me.
The worsening air quality means headaches, bloody noses, coughing, sneezing, vomiting, dizziness and paranoia. Driving through the valley and watching visibility get worse by the day scares me. I have a hard time sleeping and I limit the amount of time I have to be outside. I also considering investing in one of these everyday:
I’ve tried a number of medications, inhalers and sprays and they work for a short time and their effectiveness fades.
I’m not sure how many people suffer from the poor air as much as I do, but I can’t be alone. People who are this sensitive to the air quality are a minority and there isn’t much that can be done about the air quality quickly. I don’t expect my vent to change policy, nor am I proposing any solutions. Just an angry rant.
